Travel Photo: Monument Valley
Posted by The Roaming Boomers at January 25th
We captured this photograph just before we drove down into Monument Valley a few years back.
The valley is part of the Colorado Plateau, features sandstone buttes reaching as far as 1,000 ft, sets on the Arizona-Utah state line, and lies within the boundaries of the Navajo Nation Reservation.
I recall countless western movies filmed in and around this area, and also have vivid memories of Monument Valley as a kid while peering into my View-Master.
If you haven’t been to Monument Valley, it definitely belongs on your bucket list.
