Passports With Purpose was founded in 2008 by Debbie Dubrow, Pam Mandel, Beth Whitman and Michelle Duffy as a way to build community among travel bloggers and to give back to the places we, as travelers, visit.

Since then, Passports With Purpose has raised nearly $200,000 to fund projects like livestock to developing countries, building a school in Cambodia, building a village in rural India, building libraries in Zambia, and this year providing clean drinking water by building wells in Haiti.

What I really appreciate about Passports With Purpose is that 100% of the money, except for processing fees to Paypal to collect donations, goes directly to the charity.

Bid on Travel Prizes & Bring Water to Haiti!

    Here’s how it works:

Travel bloggers (that’s us) contact travel brands looking for them to donate valuable travel prizes to the annual Passports With Purpose fundraiser.  Then, the donated travel prizes are cataloged and raffled off in an online auction.  The highest bidder for each prize wins the prize, and the money goes this year to build wells providing clean drinking water to the poorest of the poor in Haiti.

    Our Gathered Prize Contribution:

For our part in the annual fundraiser, we contacted our friends at BedandBreakfast.com and they have generously agreed to provide a Getaway Gift Card™ with a value of $500!

The BedandBreakfast.com gift cards are the perfect gift for anyone who needs a relaxing getaway.  Furthermore:

    • The card is welcome directly at over 4,000 B&Bs on BedandBreakfast.com
    • There are no blackout dates or additional fees
    • The cards never expire or decrease in value
    • The card is deliverable with free shipping or instant email delivery
    • To make it even more fun, you can choose your own design or personalize the card with your own photo.
In our travels, we’ve stayed in quite a number of B&Bs, and we can personally attests that a great number of them provide luxury accommodations that rival the best of the luxury brands.  However, a B&B will give you a completely different perspective of your destination by likely staying in a historic mansion, and bringing you the unique intimacy only found in a B&B.

Please join me in sending out a huge shout of thanks to BedandBreakfast.com for this wonderful prize contribution and their caring hearts for participating in this year’s annual auction.

The Annual Passports With Purpose Charity Auction

Please understand that we are just one of many who have gathered valuable and exciting travel prizes for the annual Passports With Purpose charity auction.

We highly recommend that you visit the action and make a bid or two on a few of the prizes.  Who knows, perhaps you’ll win a valuable travel prize for pennies on the dollar.  Regardless of how much you pay for your winning bid, please know that your money will be wisely used to help bring clean drinking water to people needing help in Haiti.

And for that, we thank you from the bottoms of our hearts!

Bio: The Roaming Boomers is a luxury travel blog spotlighting experience, adventure, learning and exploration. David and Carol Porter, Michigan natives who retired to Scottsdale, started the project in 2008 after the market collapse took away almost half of the savings they’d carefully put together to be able to retire at age 50. The couple combined their years of entrepreneurship with a love of travel and set off to see if they could build success. The Roaming Boomers do occasionally accept free lodging, food and other gifts, but disclose that in their posts. They hope to build an audience of Baby Boomers who join them vicariously on their adventures. But they also hope to instill their love of travel so that the coming bubble of 79 million Boomers will join them.
