    After recording 15” of new snow over the past weekend, Winter Park Resort will celebrate its 73rd Opening Day tomorrow, November 14, with good conditions complemented by an entire day of activities.

    After first chair at 9:00 a.m., the Opening Day party will heat up with live music, as well as food and drink specials at Doc’s Roadhouse Restaurant and the Derailer Bar at West Portal Station. Festivities also include a giveaway where more than 35 prizes, including skis and snowboards, will be awarded. Guests can pick up their entry tickets starting at 8:30 a.m. and must be present at 11:00 a.m. at the LIFT 106 tent to win.

    Wednesday’s opening will kick off yet another ski and ride season that promises to be an exciting one at Colorado’s longest continually operated ski resort. New amenities for 2012-13 include the Coca-Cola® Tubing area, opening in December and featuring four lanes, conveyor lift access, as well as a state-of-the-art warming hut for hours of family fun. Also new for this season is Alpenglow Massage and Riverside Spirits in the Winter Park Village as well as 71 new private lockers ideal for safely securing personal belongings while enjoying a day skiing/riding.
