Posing in front of Skalkaho Falls
Alan and I include exploring in our own backyard when planning boomer travel adventures. We think it’s important to know and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us. Plus, a short day trip is a great mood booster. Getting away from the desk, and other household duties, fuels our creativity. I can’t tell you how many articles and travel plans we discussed while driving Skalkaho Highway on the way to Skalkaho Pass (our turn around point for the day) in the Sapphire Mountains. We stopped on the way back to take photos of Skalkaho Falls, which is about two steps, well maybe five or six, away from the road. It’s not often that we find such convenient waterfall viewing on our boomer travels. I’ll be telling you more about our scenic day trip real soon.
Do you like exploring in your backyard? Post a comment to share where you like to go. Alan and I enjoyed the cool mist from Skalkaho Falls. What a refreshing way to spend a summer day.
