Republicans, who recall Bill Clinton as being made of Teflon – nothing sticks – are finding Barrack Obama makes Clinton look like a piker in his ability to shed responsibility.
Rasmussen’s daily polls of likely voters show that, in ten specific areas – economy, national security, economic fairness, taxes, government spending, gun control, immigration, job creation and issues related to small business – the president only approaches 50% approval ratings in one, national security at 48%! While only 23% feel that their finances are getting better, a large majority wants government spending reined in, and only 4 in 10 think the country is heading in the right direction, when asked how they rate the president, his approval rating hovers at around 52%. More than four years into his presidency with a majority, who don’t like Obamacare, bailouts, and massive spending, his personal likeability still garners a majority approval rating.
Of course, Mr. Obama has been largely shielded from criticism or blame from the largely-liberal mainstream media, most of who are personally in agreement with his policies. That being said, even media backing cannot produce jobs and the wealth needed to restore this economy and the American faith in our system, which makes it all the more amazing that our rock-star president defies the odds and rolls over his Republican opposition on not much more than his personality – and an open, government check book.
