And now it’s time for the tough stuff.
So what happens when the fiscal cliff gets tough? The President gets going . . .
Out of Washington, that is.
The Pres is planning on campaigning for his view of avoiding the fiscal cliff (you can read about it here).
He’ll be flying to Pennsylvania, trying to rally the folks to put pressure on Congress to bend to his will, looking for some photo ops to use in this “campaign.”
Well, Mr. Obama, sometimes you look like you’d rather campaign than govern. This is one of those times.
But here’s what I think we want from you at this moment: We want you to roll up your sleeves, meet with the Republican and Democratic Congressional leaders, and do the hard work that will lead to some kind of beneficial-not-expedient solution.
You know what the exit polls said: We want you guys and gals to work together to solve the Big Problems, not leave D.C. to campaign.
Stay in D.C. and do the heavy lifting, Mr. President.
That’s why we sent you there, after all.
