Whether taxes should be increased on the top 2% of Americans — as the President has proposed — is obviously subject to debate.

But let’s stop the hoohah that Republicans and their media mouthpieces like to repeat ad infinitum:

A tax increase on job creators — especially the small businesses — is an economy killer.

     Phooey.

The reality is this:  97% of small businesspeople would not see a tax increase under the Obama proposal.

Source after source has shown this, including Politifact (you can read their report here).

     Politifact’s conclusion?

“Obama’s statement during the debate that ’97 percent of small businesses make less than $250,000′ matches the findings of a respected, non-partisan group of tax analysts. For that reason, we rate Obama’s statement True.”

Romney, the rest of the Republicans, Fox and conservative media types like Charles Krauthammer regularly peddle the “job killing” line about small businesses all the time.

It’s about time they prove their point.  Good luck:  They won’t find any facts to prove their point.

Which means?  For them, truthiness reigns!
