Thunderbird Online is excited to announce our academic partnership with MBA Women International’s Phoenix Chapter. Thunderbird Online believes that our involvement in this organization is an ideal way for us to collaborate with female MBA students, alumni, and business professionals to help them achieve professional success through online continuing education.
Why is this initiative so important? Women comprise approximately half of the total U.S. workforce, and over half of all managers are women, but only 15.6% of corporate directors are women. Women are responsible for almost 80% of all consumer spending, and there are over 10 million privately-held, women-owned firms in the United States employing over 13 million people and generating over $1.9 trillion in sales. In order to stay competitive in the workforce, and continue to advance to the C-suite, women need to continue to invest in their own professional development and networking opportunities to stay up-to-date on the latest business trends in their function and industry.
