Diabetes is a hard disease to live with, as more than 24 million Americans do every day. There is no cure, even though researchers are voraciously trying to find one. Medical advancements have made living with diabetes easier, but as of now, the top way to control blood sugar is to live a healthy, daily lifestyle.

Here are some ways you can do that.

    Use Herbs and Spices

Using daily herbs and spices in your food can really help you to control your blood sugar levels and most of them are common spices and herbs that can be found on your spice rack.

Use these eight herbs and spices to see the most positive effect:

    1.   Cinnamon

    2.   Coriander

    3.   Meadowsweet

    4.   Sage

    5.   Turmeric

    6.   American Ginseng

    7.   Flaxseed

    8.   Fenugreek

Eat Six Small Meals, Not Three Big Meals Daily

When you become dizzy or fatigued when diabetic, it usually means that you have not eaten enough. As a diabetic, it is extremely important to find a balance in your blood sugar levels and the most efficient way to do that is to eat more meals throughout the day, rather than only three. By eating six meals, you can get a few healthy snacks in your diet that will help stabilize your blood sugar levels until it is time for your next meal.

As long as you eat healthy foods, you do not have to worry about gaining weight because you are eating more, you just have to make sure you eat enough to sustain a healthy diet.

    Exercise

While eating right is very important, it is not that helpful if you do not find some sort of exercise to do along with it. Healthy eating and exercise has been known to reverse the symptoms of patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

You can do simple yoga or even martial arts. Alternatively, you could join a gym or start an aerobics class. It does not matter what you choose to do as long as you get out there and start moving. It is not about exercising just to lose weight, even though for most people that is a perk. It is about moving your body and becoming healthier.

So find an exercise routine that you like and start moving because it will truly help to balance out blood sugar levels.

Blood sugar levels can be unbalanced sometimes and it might seem as though medication is the only way to control them but these three tips really do work and you will notice a difference in your blood sugar levels in no time.
